Jamaica Gospel Worker

The Church of God in Christ, Mennonite has had a presence in Jamaica for decades. The number of members has risen and fallen; at present they are few. They need fellowship and pastoring, and the Walnut Hill, Florida congregation has accepted the responsibility for coordinating the response to these needs and for the gospel outreach to others. Recently, we have determined to invest in a “children focused outreach” in a more intentional way. To this end, we are continuing and expanding children’s Sunday Schools and Bible Schools. At the same time, we are seeking in-country outreach coordinators. This position means that you will have the privilege of leading Sunday morning services and the children’s weekly “Sunday” School classes. Oversight and counsel will be provided by the Jamaica Committee of the Walnut Hill congregation, and inspirations and blessings will be provided by God Almighty. We expect the next position may open up in November of this year, and we invite applications from the membership at large of the Church of God in Christ, Mennonite. It would be good to begin the documentation process with the Jamaican government as soon as possible. For this reason, we encourage you to put this matter to prayer, and to volunteer as soon as it feels open to you. This will be a two year opportunity with the possibility of renewal at the end of the term. Also, we welcome interested brothers and sisters, especially former Jamaica workers, to spend time on the island encouraging the Jamaican people. If you are available for a month or two, or even longer, we’d be happy to discuss how this could support the outreach. Perhaps you have expressed interest in being involved in this work sometime in the past. If it didn’t work for you then, but circumstances might permit it now, please reach out again and let your availability be known. It is our united conviction that this expanded effort is being inspired and directed by God’s Holy Spirit, and that God’s Word “will not return unto Him void.” We can all find blessed involvement in praying for the people of Jamaica and providing funds for this inspired outreach!
